Who Should Be Tested and When

Results and Interpretation
Test results are interpreted as follows:
- Patients tested negative, do not show an increased likelihood for the presence of CRC (specificity of the test: 99%). We therefore recommend performing an annual preventive screening with the Septin9 test.
- A positive test result means that the likelihood of the patient having colorectal cancer is increased. Since 45.7% of the patients tested positive are truly positive (positive predictive value), a colonoscopy is strongly recommended for a final diagnosis.
Additional Information
