Starting Your Meyer Clinic Journey
Starting Your Meyer Clinic Journey
At Meyer Clinic we support the whole person holistically because we believe nothing health related stands in isolation. Our whole focus is on your wellbeing and helping you to look and feel your best. We have built our clinic’s foundation by word of mouth and have a reputation for excellence, discretion, and outstanding patient care from our whole team.
Our main areas of specialty are wellbeing, female hormones, and aesthetics. If you request a full medical and an aesthetics consultation, you will require two initial consultations, to give you the best outcome.
Treatments are personally delivered or overseen by Meyer Clinic founder, Dr Annelize, who alongside a specially selected team is focused on delivering a 360 approach, within her perfect clinic environment allowing the best care and patient journey for you.
Please think about what your needs are, then call T: 01243771455 or email at info@www.meyerclinic.co.uk us to book an appointment. You can also book some appointments online. We start with an initial consultation that can be between 25 and 45 minutes depending on what is requested.
Follow up appointments for wellbeing and hormone checks will only be available to book in person, at your initial clinic visit.
Welcome to our lovely space. Please bring your ID with you so we can identify you. If you have booked a zoom consultation, please have that ID to show.
A first consultation is there to gather information and establish what your needs and goals are, and you may require a physical examination or a more in depth analysis of your skin. We take a full medical history, and answer your questions, so please have them ready, it sometimes helps to write these down.
After your consultation you will receive a letter that outlines the discussion and a bespoke plan for you if required. The plan will depend on what we have decided in consultation to be important to you as an individual. If it is an aesthetic or wellbeing plan, we can also use this to keep track of your personal goals.
This together with any private prescription form is included in the consultation fee. If you have any questions prior to follow up, you can email us too, free of charge.
We will send out a questionnaire beforehand, but in case you have not completed this, please have a list with your medical history, medications, and supplementations to hand. It also helps to have the most recent blood checks available – NHS or private – it all helps to build your picture.
Patients can feel emotional at the first meeting because they may be worried about health issues and have not felt heard previously. You will have enough time to talk to us thoroughly and we will listen, so please do take your time.
The consultation is interactive, and this means we will make sure you understand the options in treatment available and be given the chance to make informed choices about your hormone, wellbeing, or aesthetic plan. The pros and cons of any treatments proposed will be discussed.
At Meyer Clinic we spend considerable time sourcing the best clinically backed treatments and products and we do not over treat. We feel that the right treatment at the right time can have an incredible positive impact on your aesthetic journey.
We only use gold standard non-surgical technology that has a proven track record in achieving results. We empower you by sharing the right information about the right tools to achieve the best possible outcome for your face and body and deliver a bespoke treatment and appointment plan to achieve your objectives. We can then refer to and revise your plan as those needs are met. We will also guide you and help you to establish a good at-home skin care routine, as after care is important too.
Bringing your awareness to yourself is essential when starting a new plan. Keep a record, manage your expectations, and do not worry unnecessarily when starting new hormones, or a new skincare or supplementation regime. Our bodies take a little time to settle in, so observe the changes as they happen and make notes to share at your next clinic appointment.
You can take your Meyer Clinic private prescription to any chemist, and for our patients who live further afield, we can forward it to a chemist near you. We do also offer a concierge delivery of medications at home, so please ask if you would prefer this.
If you do have any concerning side-effects, please contact us either by phone or email for guidance as a standard practice response.
We have a list of pharmacies who are always very helpful and step up to the mark when unforeseen shortages arise, so please do call us if you have any trouble sourcing medication.
We also compound medications in some instances, and work closely with Specialist Pharmacy in London, who will deliver straight to you.
If we believe blood tests are required, you may do this with us or independently. We do offer a wide range of different testing, and this will be discussed in consultation, some may require prior fasting which we will indicate. Some of our tests are processed overseas and are likely to require more time for processing.
Depending on the nature of your consultation, you may be required to have an INBODY check included, and will need to remove your socks and shoes, to be weighed and analysed. We often recommend INBODY testing to help provide more information at consultation stage.
Blood testing will carry an additional cost, but we aim to be as clear as possible of costs at the initial consultation. We have certain sets of testing included as standard, for example with our Wellbeing or Hormone checks. Otherwise, tests are recommended as required because a patient’s needs differ widely.
If we arrange further investigations for you, for example mammograms, DEXA scans or MRI, we have a wide range of hospitals and centres that we recommend that will give you the special care you need.
We do offer an outpatient blood service for patients who are not registered with Meyer Clinic. In these cases, we will draw your blood as per your kit instructions and you will be responsible for shipping it to your provider. We will not have medical responsibility for your treatment or results in these instances. There will be an outpatient phlebotomy fee for this service.
Your follow-up consultation for Wellbeing or Female Hormones, will be made for you after your initial consultation. It is normally around 2-3 months later, but that depends on what was discussed, and specific investigations requested.
During this consultation we will look at how you are progressing and discuss your blood test results and any specific changes that need to be made or incorporated.
We will offer to send a letter to your GP to outline your treatment and ask them to consider continuing prescribing your HRT. It is your right to decline this, however we advise that your GP is involved and aware of your care plan. We can still see you for follow-up consultations, even if you get your HRT or medication through your NHS GP. You will be required to have a yearly medical check to continue HRT, to discuss your treatment plan and consider the benefits and associated risks to treatment.
We will offer another prescription during the consultation. If you require ongoing prescriptions, each prescription will be charged £35 to cover administration. You will still need to pay for your medication.
It is possible that you might need some ongoing care after your follow up consultation. We can arrange that, depending on your clinical needs. We sometimes require more blood checks to see how your HRT is performing, especially if you start testosterone therapy. We do not believe in over testing, but we do believe that testing is invaluable where needed. It can help build your personal picture and we can reflect on this in the future.
We prefer to continue ongoing treatments with all our patients and build their medical histories with them. We prefer our aesthetic patients to not have injectable treatments elsewhere, as this often leads to complications, that then need to be managed. Although we are always happy to help if there are any issues if one of our patients experience complications from another clinic. Our patients care and safety, especially with aesthetic care, is very important to us.
Building up a relationship with your doctor is invaluable and ultimately leads to better care and a much better overall outcome. A consistent approach and detailed points of reference to refer to are important.
We require our medical patients to see us annually to maintain treatment and prescriptions. When testosterone or thyroid medication are prescribed, an annual blood check will be required at review, according to national guidelines.
At any point in your care, we are happy to share your progress with your NHS GP, if needed.
